History
A Legacy of Innovation and Growth
1990-1993: The Seeds of Innovation
Comtech’s story began in 1990 formerly known as Cableshopee when our founder Mr. Sanjay Mendiratta, working as a cable TV network operator, recognized the need for reliable power solutions for coaxial cable networks. This insight led to the introduction of external power systems, revolutionizing operational efficiency.
1993-2000: Building a Manufacturing Powerhouse
In 1993, ‘Cable Shoppe’ was born, focusing on trading cable TV equipment and cables. By 1995, growing demand necessitated a dedicated office, and we expanded into manufacturing CATV-RF equipment. Our innovative products, like the integrated node + power supply, quickly gained popularity, establishing our presence in Delhi.
2001–2008: Growth and Technological Development
The 2000s brought about notable expansion. We shifted to bigger facilities and added coaxial and data cable manufacturing capability. Geographic spread then, with distributors and dealers assigned all over India. Becoming the first in Delhi to provide a splicing machine on demand, we were pioneers in introducing optical transmitters and fiber cables, therefore enabling the change from copper to fiber for numerous networks.
2008–2015: Rising to New Horizons
This was an age of explosive development. We set up our own plant and warehouse and relocated to bigger sites. Supported by distribution alliances with industry titans like Usha Martin and RPG, our dealer network grew quickly. Among the other cutting-edge items we presented were reverse PoE switches, power meters, splicing machines, and media converters.
From 2016 forward
We extended our manufacturing capacity to attain a monthly production capacity of 8,000km of optical fiber cable, 1 lakh patch cord, and 8,000km of copper cables, including CAT 5e, CAT 6, and coaxial cables. Being OEM providers of several top brands, we expanded our product line to include optical patch cords, pigtails, fiber distribution systems, and several kinds of optical fiber cables. Our extensive portfolio today covers fiber distribution and administration systems to meet various needs in cable TV, ISP networking, government, and business sectors.
